IFORS 2023 – ABSTRACT DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MARCH 30 IFORS 2023 23rd IFORS Triennial Conference Santiago, Chile, July 10 - 14, 2023 https://ifors2023.com/ Abstract submission system is available online at: https://www.euro-online.org/conf/ifors2023/ There are over 40 clusters already identified which span a diversity of OR topics. The invited clusters and their chairs are found at https://ifors2023.com/clusters. Abstracts must be written in English with a maximum of 2500 characters; submission deadline: March 30, 2023. All accepted and presented abstracts will be published online as a monograph with ISBN / DOI identifier numbers. We also plan a few special issues of journals for papers taken from the abstracts/presentations at IFORS 2023. More information will be forthcoming soon. REMINDER The IFORS Fellow Award serves to recognize a distinguished individual’s contribution to international operational research and its communities. Please share this information with the members of your society or with anyone interested. Call for IFORS Fellow Nominations Nominations are due by February 25, 2023. Only individual members of IFORS member societies can act as nominators. The nominator is responsible for compiling and uploading the nomination materials to the IFORS award submission platform. To access the award submission platform, go to the IFORS Fellows webpage<https://www.ifors.org/ifors-fellows-nomination-information/>. Follow these steps during the online submission process: 1. Complete the contact information 2. Upload a nomination letter 3. Upload three reference letters 4. Upload nominee’s resume (at most 4 pages) highlighting accomplishments as called for by the criteria (make certain includes the nominee’s email address) Please note these changes from previous years’ nomination process: * The nominator along with at most one reference may come from the same institution as the nominee. * Membership in at least two societies should be represented among the nominator and references. * Reference letters must come from established experts qualified to independently evaluate the nominee’s contributions and clearly establish the scope and significance of the nominee’s accomplishments. Qualifications An IFORS Fellow is a living person who has been productively engaged with an OR community as a member of his/her OR society for a significant number of years, and in so doing, has helped attain the objectives of IFORS. Such an individual may have played a role in the formation of new OR societies, edited OR journals, participated actively in OR conferences and other IFORS initiatives. The Fellow is chosen on the basis of at least one outstanding and one very good evaluation in any two of the five areas given below: Research – Includes theoretical, empirical or computational innovations in OR which strengthened international links. Practice – Includes application of OR to significant practical problems that contributed to the promotion of the use of OR methods, especially in parts of the world where OR is under-developed. Service – Includes significant responsibility within the IFORS organization for an extended period of time. Education – Includes administrative and other activities that have had a significant impact on the growth and development of OR education. Management – Includes significant responsibility for the development and application of OR methods within organizations that have had a major internal and international impact. The evaluation of impact in these areas will be strongly driven by the international aspects of the contributions.
