About Investigaciones Regionales - Journal of Regional Research: The founding aim of Investigaciones Regionales-Journal of Regional Research was to create a prestigious journal through which to disseminate quality research carried out in the broad academic and professional field of regional, urban and territorial studies. The review process of the papers submitted to the Journal follows international standards. Investigaciones Regionales-Journal of Regional Research is ranked as Q2 by Scimago JRC (Scopus), in Economics, Econometrics and Finance, and indexed in other scientific and academic international databases (EBSCO, ProQuest, EconLit, RePec, DOAJ, Redalyc, Latindex, Cabells,...). EWGLA XXIII Call for Papers (extended deadline) Dear colleagues, Due to multiple requests, the submission deadline has been extended to May 31st. During this period, the current submissions can also be updated. The 23rd EURO Working Group on Locational Analysis meeting (EWGLA 2016) to be held in Málaga (Spain) on September 14-16, 2016. This year the EWGLA 2016 will be held in conjunction with 7th International Workshop on Locational Analysis and Related Problems, which is organized by the Spanish Location Network and Location Group (GELOCA). Applicants will have completed a PhD in Optimization, or a related field of computational mathematics, and will demonstrate outstanding research potential. An ideal candidate will have a documented expertise and research record in combinatorial optimization techniques, provable understanding of probability and financial mathematics, and will demonstrate good programming skills. Prior experience in development of efficient optimization techniques such as tailored branch-and-bound and branch-and-cut algorithms would be an advantage. Its goal is to present, in a unified way, the current theory together with the more recent algorithms designed to address some families of problems; we will also introduce the participants to the use of specific solvers devoted to formulate and to solve instances of these problems. The lecturers will start with basic concepts, in order to be interesting for beginners, finalizing discussing advanced topics of this emerging area of mathematical optimization. This school is intended for PhD students and young researchers (a maximum of 30) who wish to advance knowledge or to gain expertise in this specific field. MSRI and the local organizers will select a number of candidates (between 20-25) that will receive a grant to support their expenses to attend the school.
