Dear colleagues from location science, dear ISOLDE participants,

it is with great sadness that I give you the news that two days ago, on 3rd January, Henrik Juel passed away.

Many of us know Henrik from the ISOLDE conferences. Together with Tim Lowe and Gilbert Laporte he was the only one who took part in ALL of the first 11 ISOLDE conferences!

After his retirement he still was active, e.g., solving Chess problems, even winning the Danish competition. His daughter informed me that he passed away at home with his family around.

Henrik was a great scientist with many contributions to location science. We will always remember him as a wonderful person.
