Dear colleagues, We are organizing two courses in Edinburgh: * NATCOR Course on Convex Optimization, 8-12 June 2026. * NATCOR Course on Optimization Under Uncertainty, 15-19 June 2026. The courses are aimed mostly at (but not restricted to) Ph.D. students doing research in operational research and related areas (business analytics, engineering, computer science). Both courses will start with an introduction to the topic, moving on to more advanced state-of-the-art concepts and with an important emphasis on applications. Being full-week courses which include several social activities, it is a great opportunity to network with peer Ph.D. students and with the teaching team, consisting of world-leading experts on the area. Teaching teams are: * Convex Optimization: Miguel Anjos (University of Edinburgh, UK), Julian Hall (HIGHS/University of Edinburgh, UK), Tamás Terlaky (Lehigh University, USA), Margherita Porcelli (University of Florence, Italy), Alper Yildirim (University of Edinburgh, UK), and Filippo Zanetti (HIGHS/University of Edinburgh, UK). * Optimization Under Uncertainty: Kerem Akartunali (University of Strathclyde, UK), Merve Bodur (University of Edinburgh, UK), Vinh Doan (University of Warwick, UK), Nalan Gulpinar (Durham University, UK), and Francesca Maggioni (University of Bergamo, Italy). Note that, very conveniently, the courses are back-to-back, and the Convex Optimization course follows the SIAM Conference on Optimization, also held in Edinburgh from June 2 to June 5. More details on the courses and registration, including the course schedule and topics covered, can be found at https://www.natcor.ac.uk/courses/. Since capacity is limited, early registration is strongly encouraged.
