Dear Location Researchers,

During the last ISOLDE meeting in Japan, Gilbert Laporte said it’s a pity that there is so little information available regarding the past ISOLDE meetings. We discussed that it’d be nice if we can have a website for ISOLDE. I volunteered to design such a website. The website address is: http://isoldeconference.org. As we discussed with Gilbert, I have designed the page in a way that people will be able to post some memories from the past ISOLDE meetings.

In order to support the website, I also established a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/ISOLDE-Conference/534366156575345. All of the past ISOLDE meetings are listed on the events page. It is easier to post pictures and comments for each of the meetings through these event pages. You should be able to access these pages without being a Facebook member. For those of you who are a member of Facebook, you can “like” this page to be informed about recent posts and pictures. Also, you can “join” the past meetings that you have attended and keep track of how many ISOLDE meetings that you have been to.

I have put all the information that I have to the website in addition to some pictures that I could get. I’m especially in search of the group photos taken in all of the past meetings. It would be wonderful if the past meeting organizers can send group photos or any additional information to share through the website.

Lastly, I encourage all the past participants to share memories and pictures to keep the ISOLDE website and Facebook pages alive.

Best regards,

Sibel Alumur Alev
