I’m very happy to let you know that we finally have the group photo from ISOLDE I, held in April 1978 in Banff, Canada. The photo is attached and can also be found here: https://uwaterloo.ca/isolde-conference/isolde-i

I sincerely thank Jim Morris for editing the photo and sending it my way.

I created the ISOLDE Conference website (https://uwaterloo.ca/isolde-conference/) after ISOLDE XII, which was held in Japan in 2012. Fourteen years later, I’m very happy to share that we now have the complete collection of group photos from all sixteen ISOLDE conferences available on the website.

Over time, I also obtained old photo albums, thanks to Zvi Drezner and H.A. Eiselt, including albums containing hard copies of photos dating back to ISOLDE II in 1981. I scanned these photos myself and shared them with the location community through Facebook. At the time, Facebook albums were accessible even to people who did not have a Facebook account. It seems this is no longer the case, so we may need to find another repository to store and share the photos and transfer them over. Please get in touch with me if you would like to help with this initiative.

I look forward to seeing you at ISOLDE XVII, which will be held jointly with EWGLA XXXI on June 16-18, 2027, in Istanbul, Turkiye.
