*Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Integer Programming for Matching Problems* Applications are invited for a 3-year, full time postdoctoral position in the area of integer programming and mathematical optimization algorithms for matching problems. The position will be based at the School of Mathematics, University of Edinburgh, and is available to start between October 1st and November 1st 2017. The successful candidate will join the Edinburgh Research Group in Operational Research and Optimization <http://www.maths.ed.ac.uk/school-of-mathematics/research/ergo> and will work with Dr Sergio García Quiles, Professor Jacek Gondzio and Dr Jörg Kalcsics on the project funded by the EPSRC Research Grant EP/P029825/1 “IP-Match: Integer Programming for Large and Complex Matching Problems”. This project is in collaboration with the University of Glasgow (EPSRC Research Grant EP/P028306/1) and the Project Partners NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) and Teach First. Applicants will have completed a PhD in Operational Research or a related field and will demonstrate outstanding research potential. An ideal candidate will have a documented expertise and research record in integer programming. The applicant will demonstrate excellent programming skills (C++ or similar) and will have high expertise in optimization solvers (CPLEX or similar). Library of Location and Layout Algorithms - Beta Release of LoLoLA

Dear EWGLA Members, as announced during the last EWGLA Meeting, we are pleased to inform you about the first official release of our software library “*LoLoLA*” – *L*ibrary *o*f *Lo*cation and *L*ayout *A*lgorithms. The library and all related information can be downloaded from www.mathematik.uni-kl.de/~lolola. The software is released under the /GNU General Public License /and, therefore, the source code is available for downloading and modifying. Instructions on how to install the library and which algorithms are available can be found in the documentation. Moreover, an executable for the Graphical User Interface (GUI) for Windows is provided. If you have any questions or have a feedback/bug report, feel free to write an email to lolola(a)mathematik.uni-kl.de. Note, that this is a Beta-release. Dear EWGLA Members FYI :) Bahar Call for Papers: Contribu2ons to Humanitarian Logis.cs Special Issue of IISE Transactions Focus Issue on Scheduling and Logistics Purpose Disasters around world claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and led to US$1.5 trillion lost between 2005 and 2015, according to The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction. On the other hand, as much as 80 percent of disaster relief expenditures go toward logistics. Therefore, humanitarian logistics is a key element of a disaster relief process. The purpose of this special issue is to publish rigorous research around emerging themes in the area of Humanitarian logistics, such as the process of planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient, cost-effective flow and storage of goods, and materials, as well as related information, from point of origin to the point of consumption for the purpose of alleviating the suffering of vulnerable people. We would welcome contribuAons across a wide range of issues. Maître Assistant) in Optimization and Industrial Engineering at IMT Atlantique (Nantes, France) ==================================================================== IMT Atlantique (École Nationale Supérieure Mines-Télécom Atlantique Bretagne Pays de la Loire) is an elite graduate school of engineering and international research center under the authority of the French Ministry of Industry and Digital Communication. Resulting from the recent merger on 1 January 2017 of Télécom-Bretagne and Mines-Nantes, it is a school of the Institut Mines-Télécom (the leading group in France for study and research in engineering and management: includes 12 engineering institutes and 1 business school located throughout France). Based on 3 different campuses (Brest, Rennes and Nantes), IMT Atlantique aims to combine energy and digital technology to transform society and industry through education, research and innovation in order to become an international reference in this area. Each year, IMT Atlantique guides approximately 2.300 students in engineering, Masters of Science and Ph.D. programs. Its research activities, at the crossroads of business and higher education, are led by 290 researchers which produce over 1000 publications each year and 18M € of funded research and development. Its courses are based on cutting-edge research performed in 6 joint research laboratories: GEPEA, IRISA, LATIM, Lab-STICC, LS2N and SUBATECH. The Department of Automation, Production and Computer Sciences (DAPI: Département Automatique, Productique et Informatique) of IMT Atlantique is located on the Nantes Campus. The department employs around one hundred people, forty of which are full professors or assistant/associate professors (fr. Maître Assistant). The research topics of DAPI include Control, Robotics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematical Decision Making, and Software Engineering. DAPI is a member of the LS2N CNRS research laboratory (http://ls2n.fr/) recently created from the merging of the IRCCyN and LINA laboratories. The candidate will be integrated into the Optimization and Decision Aiding group of DAPI and the Logistics and Production System (SLP) Team of LS2N. The research in SLP focuses on analyzing, modeling and solving optimization and decision making problems which appear in logistics and production systems at strategic, tactical and operational levels. The candidate will be asked to focus his research on domains related to the Factories of the Future (FoF) initiative of the European Union Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. Collaboration with the other IMT Atlantique/LS2N team, TASC, in constraint programming, will be encouraged. The candidate will teach in the industrial engineering and optimization curriculum of IMT Atlantique, in particular the IMT Atlantique engineering programme and/or the MOST international Master of Science. It is the 9th edition of a series of international conferences in optimization organized in Portugal under the auspices of APDIO (the Portuguese Operations Research Society). Dear colleagues, As announced in the Global Port Research Alliance Conference (GPRA 2016), we cordially invite you to prepare an extended version of your work for the Special Issue on: “Decision Analytics in Port and Shipping Logistics” (guest editors: Eduardo Lalla-Ruiz, Xiaoning Shi, and Stefan Voß) in the "International Journal of Shipping and Transport Logistics". This special issue will examine how the gap between new research trends in decision analytics and the current challenges faced by port and shipping logistics can be reduced, while addressing maritime terminal and shipping logistic problems from different standpoints. There are complex obstacles faced by the port sector and related shipping industries. Therefore, this SI invites original works dealing with critical topics and uses lines of research to assess, support, and improve port and shipping logistics operations. Sensor networks, social network activities, RFID deployment, internet search histories and retail transactions are just a few examples of sources to provide data to support efficient decision analytics. Big data issues are well recognized and offer opportunities long waited for but also provide challenges in handling and decision analytics. Cloud computing allows also small and medium sized enterprises to access resources to support analytics functions. Business intelligence and data mining can be used to store and analyze logistics, product, inventory, and sales information. Simulation and optimization, which can be found in advanced planning and scheduling systems, can be employed for, e.g., inventory, production, procurement, and distribution planning. Intelligent agents can, e.g., communicate with different partners in the supply chain, assist in collecting information, share product information, negotiate prices, and distribute alerts throughout the logistics networks. The design and implementation of intelligent decision analytics tools to support human agents in computational logistics and SCM is a very active field in research, consulting and software development. Many such technologies or systems are continuously being developed, implemented and used in real-world scenarios. We do, therefore, believe that this minitrack will be recognized by both the scientific community and practitioners developing or using logistics and SCM solutions. We aim at organizing a minitrack consisting of two sessions depending on the number of high quality submissions. We seek papers dealing with decision analytics, business intelligence, big data, cloud computing and decision technologies which contribute to intelligent decision support in the whole field of logistics and in particular in all categories of SCM. This includes but is not restricted to simulation, optimization, heuristics, metaheuristics, agent technologies, decision analytics, descriptive models, and data mining. We are especially interested in real-world applications and in information systems and software solutions which assist in solving decision problems. This is extended towards, e.g., computational logistics, advanced planning systems and the intelligent use of ERP systems. Also conceptual ideas, reports on projects in progress, and case studies are welcome. Moreover, teaching cases both at the university as well as the executive level may be of interest.
