GRANT EWGLA XXVI - ISOLDE XV

Dear Locators, the next EWGLA conference will be held in Hamburg together with ISOLDE on June 14 - 19, 2020, and we hope to meet you all there (http://www.isolde2020.de). We are pleased to announce that EWGLA is again offering a number of grants to support participants. These grants will cover your expenses up to a maximum of ?600. Eligible expenses are costs for travel & accommodation and the conference fee. To apply, you have to be a EWGLA member and should send the following documents as a single pdf by e-mail to the EWGLA Board (ewgla-board(a)euro-online.org ): - An extended abstract of at least two full pages, - Your CV, - A letter of recommendation from your supervisor, if you are a PhD student. The deadline for applications is 10 February, 2020. Decisions about grants will be made by 15 March, 2020. We especially encourage young researchers and researchers from economically weak countries to apply. We would appreciate if you could forward this announcement to your PhD students in case they are not yet members of EWGLA and, of course, encourage them to become EWGLA members! Dear all, We organize a stream on "Location Problems and Supply Chain Design" at IFORS 2020, Seoul, June 21-26, and you are kindly invited to submit an abstract. We welcome contributions in any area of facility location and supply chain design, whether it is theoretical or applied, exact or heuristic. Topics include, but are not limited to, planar, network and discrete location, hub location, location-routing, location in logistics & supply chain management, network design. EURO Support for NATCOR Bursaries

Best wishes, Joerg. --- NATCOR, a National Taught Course Centre in Operational Research, delivers taught courses in the UK to PhD students on a number of different topics in OR. Please see the NATCOR website for more details: http://www.natcor.ac.uk/ EURO is pleased to announce the availability of a limited number of bursaries for PhD students to attend NATCOR courses. https://www.euro-online.org/web/pages/1568/natcor-bursaries *Heuristics & Approximation Algorithms, Nottingham, 20th-24th April 2020 *Convex Optimization, Edinburgh, 1st-5th June 2020 *Forecasting & Predictive Analysis, Lancaster, 21st-25th September 2020 The NATCOR course fees and accommodation (typically bed and breakfast) will be funded by EURO for successful candidates. Applicants must have good English Language skills as all NATCOR courses will be in English. Preference will be given to students in their first or second years but all are welcome to apply.
