*IFORS 2017 - Call for invited sessions - OR in Healthcare * Dear Colleague, As you may know, IFORS 2017, the 21th Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies, will be held in Quebec, Canada, from July 17 to 21, 2017 (http://ifors2017.ca/). As organisers of the stream "OR in healthcare" we would like to cordially invite you to organise a session on associated topics. Manifestations of interest should be sent to ana.viana(a)inesctec.pt and joana(a)fe.uc.pt, with an indication of the topic to be addressed in that session and name(s) of the organiser(s). After acceptance of the topic, session organisers will be contacted with additional information regarding the abstract submission process. We are looking forward to hearing from you. Grants for participation in EWGLA 2018 in Edinburgh

Dear Locators, the next EWGLA conference will be held in Edinburgh, Scotland, and we hope to meet you all there (www.maths.ed.ac.uk/ewgla/). To ensure that we really do meet everybody (well, at least almost everybody), we are pleased to announce that EWGLA is again offering a number of grants for participants. These grants will cover your expenses up to a maximum of €750. Eligible expenses are costs for travel & accommodation and the conference fee. To apply, you have to be a EWGLA member and should send the following documents as a single pdf by e-mail to the EWGLA Board (ewgla-board at euro-online.org): - An extended abstract of at least two full pages, - Your CV, and - A letter of recommendation from your supervisor, if you are a PhD student. The deadline for applications is 15 January, 2018. Decisions about grants will be made by 2 March, 2018. We especially encourage young researchers and researchers from economically weak countries to apply. We would appreciate if you could forward this announcement to your PhD students in case they are not yet members of EWGLA and, of course, encourage them to become EWGLA members! If you have questions about the application or the grant, please do not hesitate to contact us.
