PostDoc position in Node Routing Models Closing date: June 15, 2016 Place: University of Lisbon, Department of Statistics and Operations Research, CMAFCIO Salary: EUR 1450 per month (as a reference, minimum wage in the country is EUR 530 per month) Position from September 15th with the duration of 12 months. Topic of research is: Study and development of ILP models for node routing problems, such as the traveling salesman problem, variants with additional constraints (capacity, time windows, maximum distance), several vehicles. several depots. Also, areas involving routing with electric vehicles or in fishery research are topical as well. Candidates must have a CV showing capability to study some of the topics mentioned before, including a reasonable knowledge of ILP solution methods (PhD topic and/or relevant scientific publications). 8th International Network Optimization Conference (INOC2017) The 8th International Network Optimization Conference will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, February 26-28 2017. The aim of this conference is to provide researchers from different areas of Operations Research, with the opportunity to present and discuss their results and research on the field of Network Optimization, in an inspiring and bridge building environment where fruitful ideas may flow freely. Conference Chairs: Luis Gouveia (Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon-CMAFCIO) and Pedro Moura (Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon-CMAFCIO) In this edition, the keynote speakers are: W. Cook, University of Waterloo (Canada) A. Martin, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (Germany) R. Möhring, TU Berlin (Germany) A. Schrijver, Univ. of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) The authors are invited to submit their papers describing original, previously unpublished research results and not currently under review. There are two types of submission: full papers (8-10 pages) and extended abstracts (1-2 pages). Accepted full papers and extended abstracts will be available in the conference material. Accepted full papers will be published in the Eletronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics (ENDM), Elsevier. There will be a special issue of the Networks journal, Wiley, associated with the conference. The 6th edition of the Winter School on Network Optimization will take place at the Hotel Sana, Estoril, from the 16th to the 20th of January 2017. Its main objective is to provide an opportunity for PhD students to get together and attend high level courses in the field of Network Optimization. Non-PhD students are welcome to attend the school, but the number of participants is limited and priority will be given to PhD students. In this edition of the school, the lecturers and subjects to be addressed are: Angel Corberan (Univ. Valencia): Arc routing problems with profits Arie Koster (RWTH Aachen Univ.): Robust optimization for network design and energy supply problems Gerhard Reinelt (Univ. Heidelberg): Ordering problems Giovanni Rinaldi (IASI): Maximum weight cuts in graphs and extensions Jose Valerio de Carvalho (Univ. Minho): Dual feasible functions to construct fast lower bounds Since the first edition in 2009, the school has been part of the activities of the CIO (Centro de Investigação Operacional) University of Lisbon as well as of the ENOG (European Network Optimization Group).
