Thanks to the exceptional work done by my predecessors, Michel Bierlaire and Dominique Feillet (with their Editorial Boards), the journal has now established itself as a successful outlet in the Logistics and Transportation area with a very good ranking. In particular, since 2021, it has obtained an Impact Factor from Clarivate (currently 2.7), and is ranked Q2 or better in most databases (Scimago, Clarivate, Scopus …). These are impressive results for a journal which has about ten years of life, and I will do my best to keep the very high standard of the journal by promoting a careful selection of the papers to be published and achieving reasonably fast handling times. Furthermore, thanks to the support of EURO, all the journal papers are published in Open Access. EJTL, like the other EURO journals, are owned by EURO and not by a private company, which provides a guarantee of transparency and correct management to create a reliable instrument for disseminating scientific results. To guarantee the success of such an initiative, EURO and I strongly think that it is of paramount importance to create and continue a strong collaboration between the journals and the other EURO instruments, and in particular with EURO Working groups. EURO journals should indeed be seen as reference outlets for publishing the results of the high-quality research performed by the members of the EURO societies and working groups, as well as a dedicated vehicle to promote and diffuse their activities. I am writing to you as coordinators of important EURO Working groups whose research areas naturally overlap with the central topics of EJTL as a first step to initiate a fruitful future collaboration. I hope you will convey to your members the invitation to consider EJTL as a natural destination for their research related to Transportation and Logistics optimisation. Furthermore, I am fully open to discuss relevant editorial initiatives and suggestions which will further strengthen the visibility and reputation of EJTL: a result which will be clearly beneficial to all who will contribute to such a success. With my best wishes for a fruitful new year for you and the working groups you coordinate. Daniele P.S.
