Call for Papers INFORMS MSOM (Manufacturing and Service Operations Management) Conference Technion, Haifa, Israel, June 28th & 29th, 2010 http://msom.technion.ac.il The MSOM Conference will be preceded by the SIG (Special Interest Group) Conferences on June 27, 2010
Dear Colleagues and Friends, We invite you to submit a paper to the 2010 MSOM Annual Conference and the Special Interest Group Conferences to be held on June 27–29, 2010 at the Industrial Engineering and Management Faculty of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel. Both events are sponsored by the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society (MSOM) of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). The Special Interest Group (SIG) Conferences will take place on Sunday, June 27th. The MSOM conference will take place on Monday, June 28th and Tuesday, June 29th. This year there will be four (4) SIG Conferences: Supply Chain Management, Service Management, iFORM (interface of Finance, Operations, and Risk Management), and this year a new SIG – Health Care Operations Management. In addition to building an exciting and stimulating academic program, the conference committee is also planning an equally exhilarating and interesting social program. This includes a conference banquet, pre‐ and post‐conference tours, spouse program, and post‐conference get‐together. Details, as they become available, will be posted on the conference web site. If you are interested in presenting your research in either the MSOM Conference or a SIG Conference, we invite you to submit your work by Monday February 8th, 2010. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of experts. For the MSOM 2010 conference: the process for accepting papers will be as decided by the MSOM Society, i.e. blind abstracts will be submitted for blind review. Each abstract should consist of (no more than) a 3‐page description of the work to be presented. The abstract should include a brief description of the research problem, the key methodology and assumptions used, and a summary of major results and their significance, but should not include any math or Greek symbols. Note that submission requirements for the MSOM conference and the SIG Conferences may differ. Important Dates: Submission deadline: February 8th, 2010 (Monday) • Review deadline: March 15th, 2010 (Monday) • Notification of acceptance: April 12th, 2010 (Monday) • Submission instructions: Those interested in presenting at the MSOM conference should submit their extended abstracts in PDF format through http://msom.technion.ac.il. Author/s’ names should not appear in the PDF file; this and other information will be collected by the electronic system at the time of submission. For papers with multiple authors, the submission must designate one author as the presenter. Participants cannot present more than one talk at the MSOM conference. Each SIG Conference has its own submission requirements and review process. For more information and a copy of the SIG call for papers we invite you to visit the conference web site (http://msom.technion.ac.il) and click on the SIG tab. Even though the same work cannot be presented at both the MSOM conference and a SIG Conference, authors may have their submission considered by both. To do so, they should only make a single submission to the SIG Conference and let the SIG Conference Chair know that they would also like to be considered for the MSOM conference, should space not allow their inclusion in the SIG Conference.
We look forward to welcoming you to Israel in June.
