Winter School Netopt2020 (1st announcement)

? The 9th edition of the Winter School on Network Optimization will take place at Hotel Estoril-Éden, Monte Estoril, from the 20th to the 24th of January 2020. Its main objective is to provide an opportunity for PhD students to get together and attend high level courses in the field of Network Optimization. Non-PhD students are welcome to attend the school, but the number of participants is limited and priority will be given to PhD students. In this edition of the school, the lecturers and subjects to be addressed are: Arie Koster (RWTH Aachen University) - Robust Network Optimization; Elena Fernandez (Universidad de Cadiz) - Formulations for Location-Routing; Hande Yaman (KU Leuven) - Hub Location Problems; Ivana Ljubic (ESSEC Business School of Paris) - Branch-and-Benders-cut algorithms: modern implementations of Benders Decomposition; Mario Ruthmair (University of Vienna))- Optimization in Social Networks? The school is part of the activities of the of the ENOG (European Network Optimization Group). The event is also endorsed by the EURO (the Association of European Societies) and APDIO (the Portuguese OR society). Dear Colleagues, An Assistant Professor Position in Operations Research/Optimization is opened at Telecom SudParis (Institut Polytechnique de Paris). Telecom SudParis invites applications for faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor (Maitre de conferences) in Operations Research. The expected starting date is September 2020. We are looking for candidates working on optimization (either discrete or continuous) with network optimization as a main application area. Successful candidate is expected to pursue an active research program, teach advanced and introductory classes and possibly supervise undergraduate and graduate students. Candidates are expected to have a proven international research record and postdoctoral experience. A PhD in operations research, computer science, discrete mathematics, optimization or a closely related field is required. The appointed person should be able to teach in the French and the English language. An appointed person who is not francophone, should be able to teach in the French language within a period of at most one year, starting at September 2020. INFORMS Telecommunications and Network Analytics Conference (TNAC) 2020 is postponed

Dear colleagues, Due to the rapidly evolving situation related to the Corona virus (COVID-19) epidemic, the organization committee of the INFORMS TNA Conference 2020, in agreement with the steering committee of the INFORMS Telecommunications and Network Analytics Section, has decided to postpone the meeting to a later date. Therefore, we regret to inform you that the conference will no longer take place on the previously scheduled dates (31 March - 2 April, 2020). With the increasing number of infections in Germany and Berlin area, new restrictions are being imposed by a large number of institutions regarding the organization of meetings with external attendees. Additionally, we are aware of the challenges that many of our participants are currently facing with respect to international travels. Amid this uncertain climate of events, the postponement decision has been taken to ensure the health and welfare of our attendees. While these circumstances are outside of our control, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The INFORMS TNA Conference will be rescheduled on the following dates: 30 August - 2 September, 2020 at its original venue at Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB), in Berlin, Germany.
